my students love me. thank goodness.

Even my old students from last year still love me.

It makes me happy.

One was gone for a couple months to visit family she has in Peru and brought me back the neatest shirt along with some yummy Peruvian candy.

I missed her while she was gone.  She always come to my classroom after school to give me a hug and tell me about her life.

Her mom is so cute and told my student said that they got me this shirt because I'd commented on a picture they'd brought in for a presentation and said I wished I had a shirt like their family was wearing the picture.  So now it's like I'm part of their family.

So cool.

I'm just glad she's back and that we get to wear our matching shirts together on Friday!

I love the relationships that I get to form during my teaching career.  I love my students, their parents, and my coworkers.

 I'm loving my life.

Is it hard?  Of course.
Is it worth it?  Of course!

because being small is fun.

Who do you think the pair of shoes on the left belongs to?

Mine, of course, are the brown ones on the right.

The ones on the left belong to one of my students.

She's convinced that we're twins now that we both have boots that are a shade of brown.

We planned to wear them on the first day back to school so we could take a picture together.

I love the picture.

It makes me look like I teach mini giants in the 2nd grade that have feet that are almost the size of their teacher's.

P.s. I love Christmas red leggings from the hubs and boot season.

shirts.

There are only 35 of these exact shirts in the world.

Designed by my little monsters, paid for by their parents, and the color picked out by me!

I'm in love with them.  I wish I would have done them last year, they're so stinkin' cute!

T is even more amazing because he wears his with me on Fridays.

And he hangs out with adults all day, not 8-year-olds.

The goal of the students in my class was to make the rest of the school jealous of our uniquely designed shirts.

Everyone wants shirts like ours now.

They succeeded.

Ode to Second Grade

Today I had approximately seven "tummyaches," two "hurt ankles," and one little girl that actually got hurt at recess.
Let's just say it's been a long week.
With a day to go still.

But I think I have fallen in love with every single of my 2nd graders though.
Especially one little boy that everyone has dubbed the "Troublemaker" by all of his other teachers. He's stolen my heart and keeps me smiling all day long.

He's adorable.

There's also a little girl that has her two front teeth missing and can't for the life of her say any of her S's.

She's adorable.

Remember how I once said my heart belonged to the 4th grade? It's slowly being stolen away by my short little 2nd grade monsters.

Oh second graders how I love you all!

It's aaaaalive!

It's been a busy couple of weeks.

I'm still alive and enjoying my job immensely!

Second grade is actually the cool grade to teach. They're not cocky and full of themselves, yet they can tie their shoes and can think for themselves.

I'm loving it!
