Thanks For Coming Labor Day, We Had a Blast

Labor day weekend was an eventful and incredibly wonderful weekend. T and I spent most of the weekend up in Fruit Heights with his family. Which is always a blast.

Always.

I'm just grateful that I married into a family who knows how to have fun. And that's no joke. T's dad is always joking about something or other which was one of the main things that made me feel comfortable when first being around their family. His mom is usually laughing at something or another, I don't think the woman knows how to frown. It's not in her genes! T's siblings definitely all have their own personalities, but when you get them all together, they're quite the sight to see.

I have also officially gone from being the tallest in my family to the shortest in theirs, which hey, I really don't mind. T's Dad always tells me that some of his favorite people like his mom (she's my height) are short.

The short jokes are growing on me too, once upon a time I gave a kid a black eye for telling me I was too short to play basketball and there was no way I was getting picked to be on his team. So I gave him the black eye, played on the defending team, and showed the kid up. No worries, I'm long over that streak of beating people up. My teacher's always loved me, I even got the Hope of America Award in grade school- so don't think too less of me, I hope our kids don't get my stubborn streak.

Onto what we actually did this weekend.
I ramble.

Sorry.
We went to the Bountiful temple and supported Airyn as she received her endowment in the temple for the LDS church. It was beautiful and Tyler and I were so happy to be able to attend! And I had my first experience eating in the temple cafeteria! Even cafeteria's are better in the temple- T and I had sandwiches and split a slice of chocolate pie.

Mmm Mmm!

On Labor Day we woke up to yummy waffles and fresh nectarines and blackberries. T's family has a genius way to eat waffles. They put sour cream on them instead of butter. Sounds weird? Trust me, I was appalled when T's Dad started slathering sour cream on my waffle the first time. Then I saw the light once I took a bite of delicious waffle, sour cream, fruit, and buttermilk syrup yumminess. If you've never tried it, you're missing out.

Seriously.
Then we got to out on T's Dad's boat. I still have yet to get out on the water, but Tyler loves every second he gets to spend wakeboarding or wakesurfing. He's becoming quite good, I only wish we would have had more time over the summer to go visit his parents so he could have practiced more. I wish we could go up more so we could visit with his family. Onto the only picture I could find of this weekend (compliments of Tyler's Dad).

My husband is a stud in a wetsuit.

Just saying.

  1. Glad you had fun....but I remember a time where I had to pull you out of a basketball game to get you to calm down, and then we said a prayer as a team to calm all of us down....the funny part is you guys were 20 points ahead...;)
