sometimes i work late.

Tyler had a quick business trip to Vegas today.  Which gave me a good excuse to stay late at school and get some much needed work done on some science and math units.

Along with planning out the day for when the superintendent comes tomorrow.

He makes me a little nervous.  More like petrified.  He's actually a really nice man.  Superintendent Rittel is incredibly approachable, friendly, and one dynamite guy.  I also respect and admire him for his goal to visit every single classroom in the district.  Every.  Single.  One.  That's the kind of guy that you want to be superintendent.

I stayed so late at school I got to see tonight's sunset from the school parking lot and drove home with my headlights on.  Which meant that I drove to school with my headlights on and drove home with them on.  That's a 12-hour work day.

We also went on our 2nd grade field trip to Harward Farms today!  Along with cute pictures of my little monsters, I snapped the following pictures of some of the activities/rotations:

One station was a sheep-shearing rotation where one of the men sheared a sheep so the wool came off in one complete sheet.

My favorite rotation is always the one with all of the animals.   This year they added baby pigs to the animal roster.

They melted my heart.   I wanted to bring one home.  Forget being baby hungry.  I'm baby pig hungry! But only baby pigs.  Not full-grown ones.  Unless the full-grown ones come in the form of bacon.

Yum.

One station hands out one tomato plant per class.  This cute little guy is hanging out on my desk until it gets warm enough to plant in the garden at my house.

A bit of a long day.  Exhaustion is beginning to set in, but T's not home yet.  He doesn't get home until laaaaate tonight (more like early morning) from the airport.  It's difficult to sleep when he's not home.

I hate it when he's gone.
