cleaning day

Today was a good day.  I found a bunch of deals out grocery shopping and stocked up on some much needed food, bathroom, and kitchen things I've been putting off buying.

Included in those great finds were .99 cent strawberries!  I've been waiting for a great deal on strawberries so I could make freezer jam.  My last attempt at freezer jam was a big flop.  Too much sugar, not enough fruit (and the fact that I tried it with peaches).  T's mom, Mama Becky, was super helpful in helping me figure out which pectin to get and giving me a little more confidence in attempting it again.  Strawberries were much easier to work with and they turned out perfectly.

Finally.  It only took me a year to get down the art of freezer jam.

The whole strawberry mashing was the best part.  Heavenly smell and super fun to mash with a potato masher.

I had to put some fabric over a few of the jar lids.  We'd used the jars to can some other things in before and had written on the top.  It would've bugged me to have "chicken breast" written on the jar lids when there's strawberry jam in them.

And the OCD kicks in again...

Poor Tacie got her wisdom teeth out today.  We went and got her a Jamba.  This girl is exactly as the picture below says.  "Never a Dull Moment" with Tacie.  She even smiles and laughs after getting wisdom teeth out.  She's rockin'.

I also found this gem today.  Misty and I got to take Tacie's senior pictures last Spring and this was a random moment.  Candid shot.  Probably my favorite picture of us.  Ever.

I also went a little cleaning crazy today and washed all of our rugs, the shower curtain, cleaned the sinks, mirrors, swept and mopped the floor, and dusted every nook and cranny of the house.  I use the excuse of getting our carpets cleaned on Saturday to make me feel better when cleaning the entire house.

I may have also cleaned the baseboards.

We also learned how to Index tonight at an activity put on by the High Priests in our ward.  It was actually pretty addicting.  I think it'll be something I'll be able to pull up and work on during my lunch time once school starts.

Pretty awesome day.
