We took one last road trip this week before I started back to meetings. My parents stayed the week up at Lodgepole Campground so we went up when T got off work on Monday and stayed til after dark.
It was perfect. We even stopped by our all time favorite place in Heber, the Dairy Keen. The burgers there are to die for (hello guacomole bacon burger!) and T loved the classic Train burger this go around. We always get a shake to share and they never disappoint! This time we tried the Smore's shake and it didn't let us down. Tasty goodness in every bite.
It was delicious. It was the perfect appetizer to our campfire Smore's we ate with my parents around the campfire that night.
Double dose of Smore's?! Count me in!
I started district meetings early Wednesday morning (blech) and summer officially ended for me. My classroom is ready to go and now it's on to making sure all of my lesson plans for the first few weeks are prepped and finalized!
The Provo Temple opened up again after their annual 6 weeks of cleaning/remodeling and we caught the 11:40 session with a couple of our friends. The new temple video was outstanding. The feeling of the spirit in the temple was like coming home again. Oh how we love to see the temple!
{Oh, and I got a haircut. Hurray for getting roots highlighted and chopping off nasty summer hair just in time for Meet the Teacher Night.}
Daniel and Taly came with us (or should I say, let us invite ourselves to their planned temple trip). It was the first time we were all able to go to the temple together and how fun it was to go with friends! They're a pretty incredible couple who inspire us and who we look up to a lot.
They're a pretty special couple.
Which means they deserve 3 pictures in a row on a blog post (or Jamie went a little picture-taking crazy and took too many pictures...)
It was a beautiful afternoon today with perfect overcast weather as a storm moved in. The flowers were gorgeous on the temple grounds.
Breathtaking, really.
And then Taly wanted a jumping picture...
Then my hottie of a husband just so happened to be standing looking too good for his own good so it meant a picture of him.
Oh my. Be still my heart.
Then it was off to the BYU Creamery for some food! We were all starving by the time we made it out of the temple and our hunger drove us to order burgers and fries to quiet our grumbling stomachs.
Why yes, we did have burgers and fries twice in one week.
The fact that it's graduation weekend made us super lucky to get a corner booth. It was packed!

Poor T was starving by this point (we all were) and put up with my picture-taking fettish today (so did everyone else).
As we were getting ready to dip our yummy garlic fries, the poor ketchup went Splat! onto the tray.
Then it started pouring rain on our way home. Our only complaint was only that we wish it would have stayed longer.
A great week, a great weekend, and onto the first day of school next week!
I love how much you and Tyler live life. Your blog posts make me so happy. Your hair is adorable! We live right by the temple...maybe you should stop and say hi sometime! (or at least pick some of our peaches :) Your temple pictures are gorgeous. There's a new video??
ReplyDeleteSo I totally thought Tyler was angry because of the guy showing his boxers off in the picture...then I read the caption...glad you guys all got together!!! Looks like fun...we still need to do ice cream sometime!!!
