getting my happy homemaker on.

After Girl's Night with my family, I went home and found out that T would be a little later than expected coming home from the Priesthood Session in Salt Lake with Papa Kris and T's brothers.  So the project I had initially planned to do over Spring Break turned into something-Jamie-can-do-while-waiting-for-Tyler-to-get-home-so-she-doesn't-get-bored project.

It just so happens that project was a wreath for our very bare apartment door.  It was starting to drive me a little nutso.

Enter the new Kussee wreath...

I'm kinda digging the burlap and neutral colors these days.  And I'm pretty happy with how this little project turned out.  I'm not usually up to getting all crafty.

Ready to buy things that look like I could have made it are usually more up my alley.  Time is money, right?

So I surprised myself and actually painted the letter "K," and made a bow for the darn thing.

Man am I good!

I did look up how to make a decent looking bow.  This site was where I figured out how to make the bow.

Other than that, I did the rest on my own (though I did buy the flowers already made... rather than try to figure out how to sew them and rustle up a needle and thread in our house somewhere.).

P.S. General Conference has been thought-provoking and ever so needed already!  My notes are crammed and sloppy- a sign that the speakers have said things that have touched my heart and my very soul.  Heavenly Father definitely knows us and what we need.

You're Invited To Your Personal Tour Of...

Our home!

This is whatcha see once you walk into our house. There's a T.V. on an entertainment center, bookshelf, and a coat rack on the right, but I didn't add that picture. We also have several lovely pictures of the two us... we're picture freaks.

So sue me.

This is our wonderful whitey tighty kitchen. Seriously. Everything is white. That is why there are so many accents of red. We're still working on brightening it up a little. There's also a door off to the right of the sink that leads to the basement. We share it with our neighbors (we live in a duplex) and we have a good size food storage and our washer and dryer down there.

Let me tell you something about our kitchen table. It used to look awful. Then my Grandma who can make anything look wonderful, sanded it and restained it to look as good as new!

Our bathroom! It's a nice size and it is fortunately not as white as it looks. The showerhead is nice and high for my tall husband to fit comfortably under and we love that there is storage.

This is our spare room. It also has my closet in it (not pictured) and is where we keep most of our school stuff and clothes.

And this is our bedroom! We still owe two someones (you know who you are) BIG TIME for buying our bed set for us-mattress, night stands and all! My Aunt made our quilt and we absolutely love everything about our bedroom.

Our pillows don't really say "His Side" and "Her Side" I added that text in the picture myself. It's an important fact.

That's the lowdown on our cute little apartment. It's homey and we've come to love the neighborhood and people around us.

Our first home is quite lovely.
Don'tcha think?
