You know you have a good relationship with your Dad when you can...
laugh together
talk together
be serious together
cry together
and
listen to each other
...all in a matter of one hour.
The fact that you can talk together for over an hour in itself is a father/daughter success.
My Dad and I have had this kind of relationship for years.
He taught me patience as we waited for hours to see shooting stars.
He taught me how to waltz while I stood on his feet.
He used to make me beg for Oreo's like a dog before he'd give me one.
He's always been the joker of the family-he has a joke for everything!
He is an expert at anything outdoors.
He taught me how to shoot.
He taught me how to find the perfect guy.
He taught me how to fend for myself.
He gets me out of my raunchy moods when we're hiking.
He's a big part of why I have a testimony.
He taught me that life isn't perfect-suck it up and be happy anyways.
He's the all-around "fix-it" Dad.
He has the best Dad laugh in the whole world and has the best smile to go with it.
We're the only ones in our family that can wiggle our ears.
I have his bottom teeth (and his allergies to berries...)
He taught me how to love.
Today made me realize how lucky I am to have such an incredible father.

Thanks Dad.
I love you.
