Faith of a Little Child

Today I was overcome with the amount of faith that the people in my ward (especially their children) have. Two particular instances have been on my mind today.

A woman sat in front of us with 7 children today- two of which were her sister's that she brought to church. She had the patience of Job and the humility and compassion comparable to Mother Teresa. While I would have been pulling my hair out while these children talked loudly, screamed, and cried throughout sacrament meeting, she was gentle and kind. One of her children are in our Primary class and he is the cutest little boy who is trying so hard to learn about the gospel and all of its principles. What could have been a disruptive sacrament meeting, became a faith filling and humbling experience for me.

We also have a little boy in our class (we have one girl out of 8 boys in our class) who has muscular dystrophy. Today he was unable to come to church because of some pain in his little hips. He comes from a family who I have loved and admired for many years. This particular boy has a special spot in my heart. He bears his testimony to me in so many different ways and has quickly become a favorite of Tyler's also. We visited him after church and he was beaming his adorable smile as we visited with him. Oh to have the faith of an 8-year-old. His sweet spirit and big hugs make me want to just eat him up and cry with tears of joy. He has so much faith, I want to grow up and have his faith one day.

I'll be working on my faith this week. My little seed needs more watering, sun, and nurturing. This week I'll be serving a little more. Loving a little more. Praying a little more.

Because faith is like a little seed...
