The good news is that it’s fall break this weekend. Which has given me 5 days of feeling terrible
at home rather than in my classroom.
Another blessing? Even though I’m
nauseous for the better part of the day, I haven’t puked. Yet.
Knock on wood. I’ll do anything
to not have to have my head next to a garbage can in my classroom.
The nausea is also starting to wear off a little (knock on
wood again). It’s not as constant of a 24/7
feeling anymore. It’s definitely there
in the morning when I wake up, but once I get some yummy peaches ‘n cream
oatmeal down me, it dissipates significantly.
It will hit every so often during the day which is more of an alert to
me that I need to get something in my stomach ASAP.
We’ve somehow kept our secret for 3 weeks already. We’re attempting to tell everyone when we’re
12 weeks along. So 4 more weeks ‘til the
whole family knows. It’d be so fun to
tell on Halloween… but my mom’s birthday is also the first week of November,
which could also be exciting!
Decisions. Sigh.
I’m still concerned about having a miscarriage. I know a lot of first pregnancies end in
miscarriage and I want this baby so badly.
The timing is perfect and I feel like the Lord has blessed us with the
fact that we’re not due until the last week of school (for me!), Tyler will be
graduated and working full-time, I’m not so nauseous that people are guessing
that we’re pregnant (yay for being able to keep secrets!). The Lord is blessing us and I want to stay
upbeat and positive. So baby, if you’re
listening to the clicking of keys on your mama’s MacBook Pro, stay inside. Suck everything out of me if you need to stay
healthy, but please, be healthy.
Foods that Mama can keep down during the day:
Oatmeal
Bananas
Fruit of ANY kind (seriously, I haven’t met a fruit I don’t
like yet)
Toast (but NOT with white bread. Ick!)
Foods that Mama completely rejects due to the smell or
just looking at it:
WHITE bread (oh yuck.
And the smell. Oh the smell is
disgusting!)
Veggies (I can stuff them down in the evening, but oh boy is
it hard)
Yogurt
Milk (which is slowly getting better. I can now have half a glass without gagging.)
Cereal (which is super sad.
I mean, really? My one comfort
food and now I can’t eat it?)
Other body changes:
-I’ve lost a couple of pounds due to the fact that I only
eat fruit and oatmeal (and I pop in 2 gummy prenatal vitamins in the
morning!). My pants fit great, although
my waist is thickening. Not super
thickening, more like hardening in areas.
It’s the strangest feeling.
-Pregnancy acne. Do I
have to say anything else? It was worse
before we found out we were pregnant, but with the help of Coconut Oil on my
face at night, it’s getting better and I’m crossing my fingers to have a
“healthy pregnancy glow” that everyone talks about.
-My hair! When I
actually kick myself to get into the shower and blow dry my hair, it looks
goooood. I could live with these good
hair days for the rest of my life.
