Today we told my family that we were pregnant! I also made it through my Relief Society
lesson without passing out. Double
awesomeness.
After my mom’s big Halloween dinner, we told my parents that
we had a house-warming gift for them that we couldn’t wait to give them
(they’re remodeling the house at the moment so it was an easy white lie). We handed them both a bag with a onesie in
it. My mom’s said “Whatever my mom
doesn’t get me, Grandma will,” and my Dad’s said “If you think I nap a lot, you
should see my Grandpa.” My mom didn’t
even pull hers out before she said, “Are you serious?” My Dad was a little lost. Once they pulled the onesies out my sisters
freaked and Codi smiled, pointed at us, and said, “I told you you’d be the
first to get pregnant!” It was
awesome. They’re pretty excited.
We also told T’s parents last night. They came down for a surprise visit, so we
ended up telling them the same way we’d planned for my parents. They were so excited! I’m glad they were still excited for us even
though Kole and Airyn are expecting.
Papa Kris got a little teary-eyed talking about Tyler’s birth (they love
telling us how Tyler was born during Finals week and how many professors they
had to work around to take their finals.
Way to go Tyler). It was super
sweet. I hope this strengthens our
relationship with both sides of the faily. I’m so excited for our
kids to know both sets of grandparents!
